Today I am going to focus on ‘if your boss is too moody’; is looking for another job a suitable option? There might be chances that you are responsible for instigating the crankiness, but if not, then these could be the reasons:

Reason no.1# He or she may be have some private personal issues which are reflecting at the workplace

In this you have room to make things better between you two by becoming a good listener of offering a help (if possible). Let him confide in you, this way you will not keep wondering about the weirdness of your boss’ behavior and will be able to empathize. 

Reason no.2# He might be experiencing intense pressure from higher management to reach targets

This too depends on organization to organization; any great organization will have a strategy and a team to hit the target. Grilling out one single person for targets does not imply any strategic planning. Even if there is pressure a meeting and discussion can lessen down the levels of anxiety.
